The service
NotchIt is a teleprompter that shows your script next to the camera and scrolls it as you speak. The app is currently offered free of charge. Some features may become paid in the future; if so, we will announce it in advance, and anything you have already paid for will not be taken away.
License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app on your own devices. You may not copy, modify, decompile or reverse-engineer the app, or sell or distribute it, except where the law expressly allows it.
Your content
Your scripts, recordings and anything else you create belong to you. They are stored on your devices (and in your iCloud account if you turn on sync), and we have no access to them. You are responsible for your content and how you use it, including the copyright of material you read out.
Who may use it
If you are under 18, use the website and the app with the consent of a parent or guardian.
Prohibited use
Do not use the app in a way that breaks the law, infringes the rights of others, or deceives others in a way that harms them. Do not use it in breach of export control or sanctions laws that apply to you.
Recording others
If you film or record other people, you are responsible for getting their consent as the law requires.
Direct download for Mac
The Mac installer on this site is signed and notarized by Apple. Download NotchIt only from this site or the App Store; we are not responsible for copies obtained elsewhere.
App Store
If you downloaded the app from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app or its support.
Hiding from screen sharing
The app marks the text window as not shareable, and common meeting apps do not show it in screen shares. This depends on the operating system and on the app you share from, and may change with their updates. The app’s “Am I visible?” check helps you confirm it. Do not rely on it to protect confidential information.
Availability and warranty
The app and website are provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard on recognition accuracy and reliability, but we do not promise that they will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. Keep a copy of important scripts.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, special or consequential damage arising from use of, or inability to use, the website or the app, including loss of content, revenue or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event and 100 US dollars. This does not limit liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for intentional harm.
Indemnity
To the extent the law allows, if a third party brings a claim against us because of content you created or use of yours that breaches these terms or the law, you will compensate us for the resulting damage and reasonable costs.
Open-source components and models
The app includes open-source components and fonts under their own licenses (such as MIT, Apache 2.0 and the SIL Open Font License). Speech models downloaded from Hugging Face, such as ivrit.ai’s model, are subject to their own licenses. Nothing in these terms limits the rights those licenses give you.
Suggestions and feedback
If you send us ideas for improvement, we may use them without any obligation to pay for or credit them.
Ending use
You may stop using NotchIt at any time. We may change or discontinue the website or the app, in whole or in part. If you breach these terms, your license ends. Your content stays on your devices in any case.
Third-party services and marks
The app works alongside services from other companies, such as Apple (iCloud, Keynote), Microsoft (PowerPoint, Teams), Google (Slides, Meet) and Zoom. Your use of them is subject to their terms. These names are trademarks of their owners, who are not affiliated with NotchIt.
Intellectual property
The app, the website, the NotchIt name, logo and design belong to us and are protected by law. Do not use them without written permission.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will update the date at the top, and a material change will be posted on the website before it takes effect.
General
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy (and Apple’s terms for App Store copies), are the entire agreement between us. If any provision is found invalid, the rest remain in force. Not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to whoever continues to operate NotchIt.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. The competent courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa have jurisdiction. This does not take away any consumer rights that the law of the country you live in gives you and that cannot be waived.
